Antigen Preparation
Viral structural proteins are expressed in insect or mammalian cells and self-assemble into VLPs without genetic material. They closely reproduce native viral conformation, offer strong immunogenicity and high safety, and suit antibody development against conformational epitopes that depend on intact viral particles.

We provide one-stop custom antigens across every molecule type for antibody drug development, vaccine research and in vitro diagnostics. Four core platforms — recombinant protein, nanodisc, virus-like particle (VLP) and mRNA — address the specific bottlenecks each molecule type brings to antigen preparation.
Whether you need an immunogen for animal immunisation, a detection antigen for antibody screening or a functional antigen for proof of concept, we match the expression system and presentation format to the molecule's structure and its application — delivering from sequence to functional antigen quickly.

Recombinant protein, nanodisc, VLP and mRNA presentation systems combined — covering the full antigen spectrum from transmembrane proteins to small molecules.
Nanodiscs mimic the native lipid environment, VLPs self-assemble into viral geometry, and mRNA is translated and folded in vivo.
Parallel workstreams with real-time milestone updates cut average delivery time by more than 30%.
Multiple tags, modifications and formulations supported, from research grade through pilot scale.
Four stages. The scaffold can be HBcAg, PP7 or CMV; once the foreign fragment is inserted, expression and self-assembly run in prokaryotic, yeast or insect cells. Outputs and acceptance criteria are in the specifications below.
The displayed epitope and scaffold are chosen, with insertion site and orientation planned
Scaffold selection (HBcAg/PP7/CMV) and fragment insertion, sequence-verified with correct orientation
Expressed in prokaryotic, yeast or insect cells, self-assembled in vivo or in vitro, then purified and concentrated
HPLC sizing, negative-stain TEM, protein quantification and endotoxin testing, delivered as liquid or lyophilised formulation
Vector construction takes 7–10 working days, expression and assembly 10–14, and QC with formulation 3–5 — roughly 20–29 working days in total.
VLPs self-assemble into viral geometry that closely mimics the native virus yet carries no genetic material — preserving conformational epitope presentation while removing the safety burden of a live particle. Acceptance is gated by uniform DLS sizing and TEM confirmation of intact morphology, with particle integrity above 80%.
Deliverables, acceptance criteria and timelines by experimental stage. The staging differs from the process above: the process shows how a project runs, while this table is the acceptance basis written into the contract.
| Stage | Scope | Deliverables | Standards | Timeline |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Virus-like particle (VLP) antigen platform | ||||
| Vector construction | Backbone selection (HBcAg / PP7 / CMV) and insertion of the foreign fragment | Recombinant VLP expression plasmid | Sequence verified with the insert in the correct orientation | 7-10 business days |
| Expression & assembly | Prokaryotic, yeast or insect cell expression → in vivo or in vitro self-assembly → purification and enrichment | Purified assembled VLP | Uniform DLS particle size with intact particle morphology confirmed by TEM | 10-14 business days |
| QC & formulation | HPLC particle sizing, negative-stain EM, protein quantification and endotoxin testing | CoA, EM images, particle size distribution report, liquid or lyophilised formulation | Particle integrity >80% | 3-5 business days |
