The megakaryocyte potentiating factor belongs to the mesothelin family. This family is comprised of several mammalian pre-pro-megakaryocyte potentiating factor precursor (MPF) or mesothelin proteins. Mesothelin is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-linked glycoprotein highly expressed in mesothelial cells, mesotheliomas, and ovarian cancer. Mesothelin/MSLN can be proteolytically cleaved into the following two chains by a furin-like convertase: Megakaryocyte-potentiating factor (MPF) and the cleaved form of mesothelin. Both MPF and the cleaved form of mesothelin are N-glycosylated. Mesothelin/MSLN can interacts with MUC16. The membrane-anchored forms of MSLN may play a role in cellular adhesion. MPF potentiates megakaryocyte colony formation in vitro.

| Protein Construction & Source | •Recombinant Cynomolgus macaque MSLN (Uniprot: A0A2K5TW94-1) Protein is expressed from HEK293 cells with hFc (IgG1) tag at the C-terminus. It contains AA Asp 296 - Gly 580.•The protein has a predicted MW of 57.9 kDa. The protein migrates as 60-75 kDa when calibrated against under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation. |
| Endotoxin | < 0.1 EU per ug as determined by the LAL method. |
| Purity | > 90 % as determined by SEC-HPLC. |
| Concentration & Formulation | •4.62 mg/mL•Filtered through a 0.22 μm filter, stored in 25 mM Sodium Citrate, 1x PBS, pH 7.4. |
| Transportation & Storage | This product is shipped under low-temperature conditions. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles during handling.•Protein solution can be stored at 2-8°C for 2-7 days.•Samples are stable for 3 months from date of receipt at -20℃ /-80℃.•Recommend to aliquot the protein into smaller quantities for optimal storage. |
